Trompe L'oeil and Windows

What is trompe l'oeil? It literally means, "to trick or fool the eye". You think you are viewing and object when in reality you are viewing a two dimensional representation. This style of painting has rich history, with roots going back to antiquity. It is a fabulous way to personalize a room, add humor, or enhance a dull room. Windows help create warmth to a room by bringing in the outdoors. You can create interesting views you may not have in your own backyard. Dreaming of Tuscany, the French Riveria or luscious gardens? If you can't go there, trompe l'oeil can bring it to you.

Did you think there is a real window here? Think again, it is all a painted illusion of a serene desert. Beautiful faux finishes accent this vineyard vision. Faux travertine, antiqued walls, wandering grapevines and faux rod iron are the perfect complement to this illusion.
